Press Release. SF6 emissions from Electrical Equipment down 40% since 1995
Ecofys, the energy consultancy, released a study on 28 June 2005 assessing emission reductions from manufacturing and use of SF6 electrical equipment across Europe. The study concludes that voluntary actions taken by the electricity industry, including both manufacturers and users, since the mid-nineties have resulted in cost-effective emission reductions exceeding previous expectations; e.g. regarding the results of the ECCP-process and the recitals of the European Commissions draft F-Gas-regulation. The study outlines further reduction potentials and how to access them by voluntary action.
